Question by : Tuning a ukulele with the WMT-555C chromatic tuner and metronome from Cherub?
Alright, I’m learning to play the ukulele. I bought the WMT-555C hoping that I could tune my uke. But, I’m kinda lost on how to properly use it. Help please?!

Answer by Mike If it fits, clip the instrument pickup to the ukulele headstock (anywhere) and plug the pickup into the tuner. Make sure the tuner is set to A=440 Hz (standard for most instruments)
Try the old “my dog has fleas” tuning by ear so your instrument is in the “ballpark”. Now check the strings to see if they are all about the same tension. If not, you may have a string an octave too high or an octave too low.
The strings closest to the ceiling when you play is called the #4 string and it is tuned to a [G]. Pluck the string and see if you are high (sharp) or low (flat) of the G indication on the tuner. Now tighten the string with the ukulele tuning peg (if note indicated it was flat) or loosen the string with the tuning peg (note was sharp) until the string indicates a [G] not on the tuner.
The rest of the strings are #3 [C], #2 [E], #1 [A].
